"Hello, I'm Lazare, 23 years old, from Georgia, currently a volunteer of Slezska Diakonia in Karvina, Gabriel.
I have been working here for three months with my supervisor and colleagues with people who are addicted to drugs. Every day, we try to protect the city from the pollution of used syringes and give these people a safe way to use drugs, both by providing them with the necessary new equipment and by providing them with information that will help them to prevent various related viruses.
This service has existed in Karvina for several years, and during these years various activities have been created to effectively do the work we do. All activities are necessary and important, but my favorite activity is patrolling the city, during which I have the opportunity not only to fulfill the assigned task, but also to explore and explore new places. People we work with use drugs as an escape from this reality. The rhythm of their life is very different from the everyday life of people who live a "normal" lifestyle accepted in society.
Their views on the world are very tender and changeable. This project allows us volunteers to create our own mini-projects that will help people who need it. This is one way to contribute to this great cause. So far I haven't done my project, but hopefully soon I will be able to contribute to this really important cause."
