Emma' s visit in Benjamín

Our French volunteer Emma decided to visit a placement Benjamín in Krnov, where Maya, German volunteer of Slezská diakonie works. How was it? Lets read... 

"People with disabilities were a great discovery for me. It was the first time that I worked with this type of public. When I arrived, I was a little bit lost. I didn't know how I could help or what I could do.  People were divided into small groups of 4. I was in the group of independent people. They could do painting activities or a little craft. We prepared for Easter. I helped them in both of these activities.

In the afternoon, I made a presentation of France with videos, music, photographs. I also brought some French cheese and pains au chocolat which they tasted at the end of the presentation. Little pride for me: I made this presentation in Czech =). This presentation allowed some interaction between them and me. It was a nice experience and I enjoyed to discover this placement in Krnov."  (Emma)
