How Thea and Jozi enjoyed "Day with"?

Thea and me planned a „Day with“ together. Since we both work in schools and both come from Germany, we decided to organize a „German day“ and show the students some things about our homecountry.

We prepared a presentation about German traditions such as traditional food🥘, clothing and interesting facts about our country to bring the german culture a little bit closer to the students. We also talked about the differences between Christmas in Germany and the Czech Republic.

We adapted the program of our „days with“ to the different ages of the students in our schools. Thea volunteers in a primary school while I work in a secondary school.

On our day in Theas school we played German children games and teached the students a little dance 👗 which was a lot of fun. Although some of the students were a little bit sceptical in the beginning I think everybody enjoyed it in the end.😀

In my school we let the students answer questions in a fun quiz that Thea and I prepared and also teached them some German phrases. To this day one of the students in my class still remembers the german word for hello, „Hallo“ and greets me with it everyday, which always makes me smile.🧡

In addition to the program we organized  Thea and me also prepared German food for the students to try. We cooked a german meat dish called „Schnitzel“ and also baked a traditional German cake to share with the students.

I really enjoyed spending a day at Theas workplace. It was interesting to see what is part of her workday and also to meet the students Thea spends time with everyday.
