Midterm seminar 2026

From 12 to 15 January 2026, our international volunteers of the 2025 / 2026 generation gathered again with the InterVIA coordinators for a 4-day Midterm seminar in Malenovice.

For each generation of volunteers involved in long-term projects, this seminar is always one of the milestones in their year with Slezská diakonie. Almost halfway through their voluntary service, it is the right time to reflect on their progress so far and experience gained, and think about the months ahead. At the beginning of their journey, the volunteers clarified their expectations and set their goals and plans. Now, during the Mid-term seminar, they had the opportunity to stop, look back on their successes and difficult moments and evaluate if they are on the right track.

At the same time they worked on their presentation skills, enhanced their creativity, learned new facts about Czech culture, history and nature during the trip to Pustevny in Beskydy Mountains, and strengthened their friendships through new adventures and team activities.

One afternoon was again devoted to improving the communication in Czech under the guidance of our Czech teacher.
