We warmly welcome new volunteers to the InterVIA program

On 1st February 2026, our volunteer family grew by three new members. Volunteers Sofia and Oleksandr participate in 7-month projects at the hosting centres EFFATHA Karviná and POHODA Karviná, while Noa will be helping at the Slezská diakonie Primary School in Ostrava for 5 months. 

We officially welcomed all three volunteers at a one-day seminar, the Welcome Day, that partly took place at one of our hosting centres, KLUB ON LINE Karviná on 5th February 2026. During this meeting with the InterVIA program coordinators, Noa, Sofia and Oleksandr got to know each other, they had the opportunity to reflect on their decisions and motivations to come to the Czech Republic to help in social services, and think about their expectations, plans and personal goals for their voluntary service. Every beginning is a step into the unknown, but because everything is easier together, our other volunteers who have been active in Slezská diakonie since September 2025 joined us in the afternoon as well. As experienced "matadors", they equipped our new volunteers with practical tips and useful information for life in the Czech Republic.

Noa, Sofia and Oleksandr are just beginning their journey. 🚀 We wish them lots of success and many wonderful experiences! ✨
