Activities:

Your main activity will be direct work with centre users. The activities in the centre are very varied, as they depend on each user's needs and their personal agreed cooperation plan. The training activities are in the field of soft and gross motor skills, exercises of daily activities, support in social functioning etc. You will help the staff with planning all the specific activities for the users - preparation of tools, structures, cards, etc.

You can be actively involved in the activity, or you can just observe the employee in personal work with the client. If O. T. A. therapy (Open Therapy of Autism) is taking place in a given time period, then you can help the therapist by taking photographs during the course of the therapy. Furthermore, it is very much welcomed if you can organise some free time activities, e.g., a trip around the area, a visit to interesting places, the cinema, theatre, coffee shop, etc.

Preferred personal traits:

  • Proactive in the work with the Centre users as well as in learning the Czech language
  • Creativity
  • Responsibility
  • Empathy
  • Love to work with children
  • Ability to be calm around the young people

Events throughout the year:

Events throughout the year are organised according to the seasons - Christmas, Easter, Summer holidays etc. Also, the Centre aims to develop and maintain the social and  motor skills of the young people by taking them to various places for “training activities”, so you will have a chance to get to know local places.

Growing through challenges:

The challenges you may face and grow through them are:

  • Becoming an authoritative person for the young people - you will learn how to act with natural authority
  • Being calm around young people - learning how to act in certain situations
  • Overcoming language barriers – learning the Czech language ‘on the go and finding new ways of communicating
